We have many amazing supporting people at Aprés Sol that we will be adding to the site soon. For now, meet the wonderful woman who had the vision of Aprés Sol from the beginning.
Karen Goldberg, Jill of all Trades
Karen has spent most of her life in some kind of public service- She started volunteering for the AIDS PROJECT at age 11. Through the years she has been involved with many non profits, serving on the board of directors for the Iris Network, and currently as a corporator with Sweetser. Karen and her husband Lee (along with 2 very important friends) started their own non profit in 2023 called Prostate Cancer Maine. Karen started her adult life at USM, Maine College of Art & SMCC. She became a women and children’s advocate for (then) Family Crisis Services and is certified in Core Comprehensive Advocacy, Intervention, Response, and Ethics. She carries many other certifications as a Reserve Police Officer, 911 Emergency Dispatcher, EMT, Crisis Intervention, Security Officer, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and many more. Currently Karen owns Dissent Wear- designing clothing, art and Skincare/SelfCare; is a Doctor of Divinity – actively offering Spiritual Counseling for all faiths(and non faiths), performing weddings, funerals and ceremonies; a certified Life Coach with trauma & ADHD specialties; and a Holistic Health Practitioner, always learning. Karen is a strong social justice advocate. “Self care is so important and being able to be part of someone's journey is truly rewarding.” Karen understands that many people in this day do not have a traditional 9-5 schedule. She is very flexible.
When not working you can find Karen with her husband Lee and their 8 children, 5 dogs, 6 cats and whatever else they have rescued! If it is summertime find her by the ocean. 🙂
